Project

We all applied to the project for different reasons, some educational, some financial, and some emotional too!…. we have learned so much, both educationally and emotionally. Our ambitions, educational futures and carer pathways are clear in our minds.

People and work unit

The People and Work Unit is a charity based in South Wales Established in 1984. We work through a mixture of research, evaluation and high quality demonstration projects to identify and address economic and social issues.

We have recently been appointed to evaluate the programme for the piloting of the School Effectiveness Framework for Wales, on behalf of the Welsh Assembly Government, and to develop an Access and Inclusion Strategy for Merthyr Tydfil Integrated Children Services and 14-19 Network.

We use what we learn from our projects, and the research and evaluations we do for clients such as the Welsh Assembly Government, universities, voluntary sector organisations, and Local Authorities, in order to influence policy and practice. Our aim is to ensure that everyone has both the opportunity and the support they need to gain a better quality of life through education and lifelong learning.
